Musical festivals of Savoie: "Jeunes de Strasbourg" Symphony Orchestra

Presentation

🎻 A symphonic youth full of passion

The Symphonic orchestra of Jeunes de Strasbourg is a group that brings together, depending on the year, between 50 and 60 musicians aged 15 to 30.
Under the direction of Gustave Winkler since summer 2016, the Orchestre symphonique des Jeunes de Strasbourg has built its reputation on a musical work of quality, coupled with a good mood and spontaneity that do not leave the listener indifferent.
As an association, OJS is completely independent. It does not include any learning curriculum and the participation of its members depends only on their motivation. Recruited by audition, the musicians rehearse every week in Strasbourg. The musicians all have different profiles (college, high school, students, active youth) but share a common point: the passion for music.

🌍 A group that transcends borders

During its season, the orchestra performs about ten times in Alsace and neighboring regions (Lorraine, Franche-Comté, Baden-Württemberg...) in various forms: classical concerts or gala, festivals, sound and light shows, educational concerts...
Every summer, his work is rewarded by a tour in France or abroad. He has been able to travel his music in Brittany, Aveyron, the Basque Country or further: Quebec, Greece, Italy, Austria, USA, Poland, Croatia, Slovenia, China ...
In 2024 the Orchestra was invited by the Musical Festivals of Savoy. Due to the great success of his concerts, he is invited again this year in Savoie, on his return from his tour in Italy.

🎶 Brilliant leadership

Gustave Winkler joined the Strasbourg conservatory as a clarinet before turning to conducting, which he studied first with Theodore Guschlbauer and Claude Schnitzler, then at the Freiburg University of Music from 2015.
During his studies, he worked with orchestras such as the Südwestdeutsche Philharmonie Konstanz and the Kammerphilharmonie Pforzheim before obtaining a Master of Conducting in 2018, which was highly praised.
In July 2019, he is a finalist of the «27th World Music Competition» in Spain and in 2021, semi-finalist of the first edition of the «Lake Como International Conducting Competition» in Italy.
He is since the 2016-2017 season, musical director of the Orchestre symphonique des Jeunes de Strasbourg.
