Immersive museum experience
Presentation
In Saint-Martin-de-Belleville, the mountains are not just about the 600 km of slopes in Les 3 Vallées. They also tell the story of the valley and the people who shaped it. For those who want to discover their destination in a different way, the Saint-Martin-de-Belleville Museum offers a cultural and authentic interlude in the heart of the village. Discover Saint-Martin-de-Belleville in a different way than skiing! Housed in a former traditional farmhouse, the museum invites you on a journey through 150 years of history, from the agropastoral daily life of the 19th century to the development of ski resorts in the 1960s.
New centerpiece of the museum: the interactive map of the Valley
An immersive experience
In 2026, the Saint-Martin-de-Belleville museum will enhance its exhibition with a major new installation: a 2-meter-long relief map of the valley that immerses visitors in the heart of the Belleville Valley and its history. Head to the museum's mezzanine, where the model takes center stage as the highlight of the visit. Designed as a visual and auditory educational tool, it immerses visitors in the heart of a constantly changing region, revealing its human and natural transformations over time.
An interactive exploration
Freely accessible, the interactive map reveals different scenarios, allowing visitors to explore the valley according to their interests, in both French and English:
- Landscapes and their formation,
- The rhythm of the seasons,
- Human occupation,
- The history of the ski area.
This project is part of a series of digital installations including the scenography of the cauldron (Beaufort cheese making) and a new projection on milking that animates the fresco in the barn.
An ideal cultural activity, summer or winter
Want to take a break from your week of skiing? Discover Saint-Martin-de-Belleville from a different perspective? Or escape the inclement weather? A visit to the museum is the perfect alternative! Whether you're alone, with your partner, or with your family, the museum is open all year round.
