Saturday, June 22, 2024 - Climbing to Alpine pastures of "Pépé Nicolas"
Every year, this ancestral ritual kicks off the summer season! Starting from Saint-Martin-de-Belleville, the herd of cows and goats crosses the different villages of the "Vallée des Belleville" to reach the mountain pasture of Chez Pépé Nicolas 6 km higher. At the arrival, a friendly lunch and animations are waiting for you!Programme for the day:
💚 8.15am - Meet in front of Saint-Martin-de-Belleville town hall to wait for the animals in a gentle mountain atmosphere. Complimentary coffee! ☕️
🏔 8:30 am/8:45 am - Departure of the herd: 6 km to cover at your own pace, accompanied by the cows for a gentle walk or the goats for a faster one. Pass through the villages of St Marcel, Praranger and Bettaix (with refreshments). Arrive at the bottom of Les Menuires, at the "Plan de l'eau", then at the Chez Pépé Nicolas mountain pasture.
🥗 12pm - Savoyard meal: Enjoy delicious local specialities accompanied by musicians.

3pm - Goat milking with the alpacists
🎤️ 4pm - Blind Test XXL: Test your musical knowledge and challenge your friends in our giant blind test on the terrace. Surprises and prizes to be won!
🎁 💃🏻 6pm - Alpine Evening: DJ, BBQ, outdoor bar. Lots of dancing and fun!

Sunday, June 23, 2024 - 3nd edition of the Mill and energies Festival
On the occasion of National Mills Day, the village of Saint-Martin-de-Belleville celebrates its agro-pastoral past and eco-responsible present at the Burdin Mill. Various workshops for families and a "sustainable energy" trail with seven educational totems invite young and old to operate a miniature wooden gondola using a micro-turbine or reconstruct an alpine chalet based on the principle of geothermal energy! This circuit perfectly illustrates the environmental initiatives in the Vallée des Belleville (solar panels, micro hydroelectric power plant, biomass boilers…).Access to the site will be on foot, by mountain bike, or by horse-drawn carriage to encourage sustainable mobility!
Program:
- Open mill day to discover the workings of an authentic water mill: wheat milling demonstrations, children's workshops, and activities. A fun and educational dive into the agro-pastoral past of La Vallée des Belleville!
- Guided tours of the mill at 10:00 AM, 1:30 PM, and 4:30 PM.
- Steam boat building workshop - At 10:15 AM and 3:30 PM. Simple construction of a steam boat, using recycled materials (bottles, tin cans…). From 8 years old, accompanied by an adult.
- Acrobatic and aerial show "Petits jeux sans conséquence" - At 11:30 AM. A sensational entertainment!
- Workshops on hydraulic energy "Hydrokit" - At 2:30 PM. In this interactive workshop, 11-15 year-olds explore the hydroelectricity of the high valleys of Savoy, in small groups.
- Discovering the biodiversity of Belleville. Young and old discover the natural environment of La Vallée des Belleville with a nature guide. An opportunity to learn how to enjoy the mountain environment without damaging it.
Getting there: access recommended on foot, by bike, or with the village's horse-drawn carriage to encourage sustainable mobility! About a 30-minute walk from the "Iles parking", in the village of Saint-Marcel.
